We are seeking a proactive and experienced IT D&A Operations Engineer to join our FPS Global Digital Products & Delivery – Data & Analytics team hosted on Azure Cloud. This role plays a critical part in supporting D&A (Data and Analytics) operations within the Finance and Purchases Shared Services (FPSS) domain.
You will be responsible for monitoring data pipelines, handling manual data refreshes, and managing various IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, problem, change, and release management. You will also work closely with stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring high service reliability and compliance with SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring Data Pipelines:
Monitor and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ensure reliable data ingestion and transformation.
Utilize monitoring tools to proactively detect, analyze, and address performance issues.
2. Data Refreshes:
Coordinate and execute manual data refreshes to ensure timely availability of data.
Document and optimize data refresh processes for efficiency and repeatability.
3. IT Operations & Support:
Incident Management: Respond promptly to incidents, troubleshoot errors in data ingestion and processing, and perform root cause analysis.
Problem Management: Identify recurring issues, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain a knowledge base of resolutions.
Change Management: Ensure all changes to data operations are well-documented, tested, and communicated across teams.
Release Management: Coordinate production deployments through GitHub, working closely with development and QA teams to ensure smooth releases.
4. Data Quality Support:
Collaborate with users and technical stakeholders to resolve data quality issues, including completeness, consistency, uniqueness, and availability.
Assist in defining and tracking data quality metrics in line with governance standards.
5. Technical Troubleshooting and Data Validation:
Perform hands-on troubleshooting of issues related to data pipelines.
Run SQL queries and use Python scripts to validate and inspect data at various transformation points.
Job Qualifications
Must-Have:
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Azure Cloud (or flexibility to work with AWS/GCP).
Experience with IT Operations frameworks, including:
Incident Management
Problem Management
Change Management
Release Management
Data Quality Support
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
ITIL certification (especially ITIL v4 Foundation).
Azure certifications (AZ-900, DP-900, or others).
Familiarity with Azure Databricks.
Experience using GitHub for release management and deployments.
General Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in IT Operations, preferably with ITIL certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud technologies (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).
Solid understanding of data modeling and database structures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
