In this impactful role, you¿ll manage key procedures and administrative activities that drive critical underground communications projects. If you have experience coordinating infrastructure initiatives and are ready to contribute to a high-performing transit network, join our dynamic Network and Communications Services team.** **Minimum Qualifications:** Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related fields, progressively responsible construction engineering management experience and related supervisory experience. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations. **Job Summary/Duties:** The IT Communications Project Coordinator requires standard infrastructure knowledge, experience and skills to build a distributed antenna system and a commercial cellular radio infrastructure in the underground Metrorail system. Employee in this position is responsible for development and implementation of procedures and for management of administrative activities relating to infrastructure improvements of the Metrorail System. Employee has considerable latitude for independent judgment and action within established guidelines. Employee is supervised by the Deputy Chief of Network and Communications Services (NCS). Supervises the overall administrative engineering management functions of the Neutral Host project, including the planning/development of manpower budgets and other general support requirements. Establishes and coordinates contract closeout procedures involving physical, fiscal and final completion of contracts as specified in Authority directives. Actions include the execution of all contract analyses closeout documentation. Analyzes, in concert with WMATA¿s Construction and Engineering departments, and Quality and Warranty department, the nature and extent of engineering and other contractual construction deficiencies encountered as construction work phases out and operations commence. These deficiencies may include problems in materials used versus WMATA division specification, discrepancies in build versus approved design, and safety/ADA considerations of installed station elements. Supervises the final assembly and preparation of as-built contract documents with the contractor, NCS, and WMATA¿s Construction and Engineering departments. This includes drawings, warranties, spare parts, catalogue cuts, etc. Assigns tasks and coordinates activities of WMATA, NCS, contractors and WMATA¿s Construction and Engineering departments on activities requiring joint participation. Conducts regular visits to the field to ensure completed work phases are in accordance with contract payments and that change order procedures are in accordance with established procedures. Researches, coordinates and resolves construction modification plans in accordance with engineering principles and practices. Prepares and issues WMATA construction procurement schedule. Assists in development and implementation of plans for construction cost reduction. Represents NCS and the Authority/NCS at a variety of construction meetings and activities.
