ISP Financial Specialist, Principal Posting Begin Date: 2025/07/08 Posting End Date: 2025/07/22 Category: Accounting and Finance Work Type: Full Time Location: Meridian, ID, United States Minimum Salary: 36.00 Maximum Salary: 42.00 Pay Rate Type: Hourly Description ISP Financial Specialist, Principal Example of Duties: · Prepare the annual budget request for the Agency (Including Brands and Racing) · Utilize professional background to develop budget analysis, create financial reports, and prepare complex financial documents · Advise management staff on budget and financial activities · Responsible for tracking appropriation moves, routine financial report preparation, and adhoc reporting as needed to aid senior management in decision making · Research financial data for accuracy, trends, and variances to ensure compliance · Supervise fiscal staff responsible for budget analysis, payroll, and projects · Provide feedback, prepare annual evaluations, give direction and training · Facilitate year-end closing and yearly compensation plans · Supervise or oversee the activities of a major financial system requiring the application of accounting and/or auditing theory, principles, and practices · Contact with public officials and private business representatives to resolve and/or discuss budgeting or accounting issues · Oversee and develop a financial program integrating national accounting, auditing, or budgeting standards, federal and state guidelines and procedures, and agency policies · Direct preparation or supervision of the preparation of a variety of professional financial documents and review/approve the final product · Perform advanced professional financial skills · Analyze, research, and maintain financial data Minimum Qualifications: · Good knowledge of: o accounting principles and practices o supervisory practices o Budget Practices · Experience: o using computers to develop, analyze, and report on financial data o monitoring/reviewing internal financial controls o resolving technical accounting, auditing, or budgeting problems o preparing financial documents for management review o analyzing financial activities and recommending or implementing management actions o Explaining complex data in simple terms Preferred Qualifications: o Microsoft Excel experience o Prior experience in governmental accounting and/or reconciling to Idaho's State Accounting Systems (i.e.Luma, Enterprise Reporting, Pcards, Etc.) o Purchasing experience Benefits: The State of Idaho offers a robust total compensation package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance; PERSI retirement benefits; paid sick, vacation, and parental leave; and 11 paid holidays per year.
