Our client is recruiting for an Area Manager to monitor and oversee the EPC Contractor Inside Battery Limits works. Main scope includes, but not limited to a Waste Management Package. Area Manager will oversee critical construction phases and ensuring safety and compliance on a major LNG project in Mozambique.

Role Overview

Support Project Manager in overall site management and participate in the Emergency Management Team. Coordinate and monitor construction activities in the area until handover to the Commissioning team. Build strong working relationships with EPC Contractors for effective issue management. Facilitate execution plans and method statements to align work with project strategies. Maintain physical presence at site for safety commitment and quality oversight. Review construction progress, identify risks, and propose mitigations. Analyze potential risks and propose technical solutions based on experience. Prepare for Precommissioning and transition to Commissioning during SIMOPS activities. Contribute to project peer reviews to ensure compliance with procedures. Monitor effectiveness of EPC Contractor’s construction management processes. Lead construction planning meetings for issue resolution.

Skills & Qualifications

Degree in Engineering (or similar relevant subject) Extensive project / construction management experience in large greenfield proejcts experience (LNG liquefactions (preferred), GTL,, petrochemical, refinery or gas processing/feedstock plants. Construction programme management skills including full understanding of areas critical to the success of large complex projects: safety, environmental, work organisation, cost, schedule, quality, organisational competency and reputational risk. Proficient in English; Portuguese and/or French is advantageous.
