Job Summary:
The IS Journeyman works in the forming department of Ardagh Glass Packaging’s manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for effective production of glass bottles from molten glass.
Responsibilities:
Control the quality of bottles on your assigned machines Work on quality of bottles (i.e. timing problems, mold equipment, cooling prob., temperature prob.) Control timing, cushioning, drop form and temperatures Maintain new job changes: timing, temperature, feeder settings, mold equipment, machine equipment, weight and capacity Check last running problems so they can be addressed Document job histories and job summaries to communicate with management team Control finished products rejects If the job is running standard or above; save all settings, timing, machine, feeder, mold equipment, mold temperature, print out and put it on the machine Give instructions about swabbing and explain special problems to operator and upkeep Document job changing and problems to communicate these with management team Control assigned machines and associated cold end rejects

Minimum Education/Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent Four years of experience as an upkeep and/or IS Specialist – must have complete knowledge of the glass making process from forehearth to lehr and be able to quickly identify and repair any issues resulting in defective glassware Ability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts Ability to work in a heavy industrial work environmentAbout Ardagh Group
