We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments team at Mercer. This role will be based in Porto or Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As an Investments Performance Analyst at Mercer, you will be responsible for calculating, analyzing and evaluating investment performance both at a for client and fund level. Your role will involve using performance measurement methodologies, analyzing data with the help of an Investment Performance platform to provide insights to stakeholders. As part of the performance team you will work to optimize processes and ensure accurate and trusted performance calculations.
This position requires a strong background in Investments Performance Measurement, Attribution and Risk experience with performance measurement platforms, and knowledge of industry standards such as Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®).

Performance Calculations: investments performance, attribution and risk calculations that are accurate and timely. Either via a performance platform or on excel.Performance Measurement Methodologies: Implement performance measurement methodologies and frameworks to ensure accurate and consistent performance calculations. Stay updated with industry best practices and incorporate them into the performance measurement process.Data Management: Manage and analyze large datasets related to investment performance. Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing quality control measures.Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of performance measurement and analysis. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance the overall performance measurement function.What you need to have:
Bachelors or Master’s in Finance, Economics, Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar.Strong Microsoft Office skills.Fluent English level (minimum C1).Performance Analysis: Strong experience in performance analysis, preferably in a financial services or investment environment. Familiarity with performance measurement platforms and tools.Performance Measurement Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of performance measurement, attribution, and risk calculation (PMAR) methodologies. Understanding of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and their application.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and identify performance trends and patterns. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex performance analysis findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ease with VBA/Python.SQL skills.Attention to detail is critical.Strong problem-solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues.Excellent planning and organizational skills in order to prioritize and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks.Proactive and goal oriented.What makes you stand out?
Project Management: Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of performance-related projects. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Investment Management Experience: Experience working at an asset or fiduciary manager, with a strong understanding of investment management principles and practices.Performance Measurement Systems: Experience in implementing or managing performance measurement systems, such as the Eagle investment performance system. Skills in SQL or other technical skills related to data analysis.Certification or Relevant Experience: CIPM/CFA certification completed or in progress, or relevant practical experience in performance analysis and measurement.Why join our team:
