Role details:
Title / Designation: Investment Banking Manager – Technology Sector Reporting Manager: Partner Location: Mumbai (Hybrid - Office once a week)
Role & responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end execution of M&A, private equity, and capital raising transactions, including financial modeling, valuation analyses, pitch books, information memoranda, and due diligence coordination with legal, tax, and technical advisors. Build and maintain strong client relationships across startups, scale-ups, and large technology enterprises, providing tailored strategic advice and identifying new business opportunities. Support and contribute to business development efforts by originating mandates, preparing proposals and pitches, and leveraging market intelligence and industry networks. Develop and maintain relationships with venture capitalists, private equity firms, and strategic investors; represent the firm at industry events and conferences to enhance visibility and deal flow. Mentor and guide junior team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables and promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture. Stay current on trends across SaaS, AI, cloud, fintech, and other emerging tech verticals, offering insights on market dynamics, investor sentiment, and valuation benchmarks.
Candidate requirements:
MBA in Finance or Chartered Accountant (CA); CFA preferred. 6–8 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, or transaction advisory, with exposure to the technology sector. Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and deal execution under tight deadlines. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability in business development, including deal origination and relationship-building with investors and clients. Familiarity with deal structuring, term sheets, and relevant regulatory frameworks. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., PitchBook, Capital IQ). Understanding of technology platforms (SaaS, cloud, digital infrastructure) and enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HCM) is a plus.
