We are hiring an experienced Investigations Counsel in Asia within Ericsson’s Corporate and Government Investigations (CGI) group within Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance (GFLA). Ericsson’s CGI team is responsible for the investigation of potential legal and compliance violations within Ericsson and is a critical support in ensuring the efficiency and credibility of the Company’s ethics & compliance program, defending Ericsson's dedication to integrity in its culture and ways of working, building trust with its stakeholders, including enforcement authorities, and ultimately driving the company’s sustainable success.

This an “office first” hybrid position (in office and remote) based in Beijing or Shanghai and reports to the Head of Asia & Oceania Investigations Hub in Australia.

What you will do Give legal advice in connection with investigations, including complex internal investigations and cross border investigationsResolve need for and maintain attorney client privilege; conduct investigations under attorney-client privilege where applicable and using internal resources or external counselSupervise external counsel on investigations and related mattersCollaborate with colleagues working on investigations by government authorities and with civil litigation related to investigationsConduct internal investigations of reported Code of Business Ethics violations in a forensically sound, robust, fair, and timely manner, and in compliance with relevant laws (including employment laws and data privacy laws)Draft clear written investigation reports and assist others with report draftingAdvise relevant decision-makers of the status of investigation findings on a timely basis and present summaries of the investigationAssist in the development of investigations policies and processesAct with integrity, objectivity and fairness and apply sound legal judgment to address gray areas and interpret and apply the lawAssist in the development of strategies and processes to mitigate compliance risk based on investigation risk areasAssist in the reporting to key stakeholders on investigations, including appropriate root cause analysis and lessons learnedYou will bring A law degree from an accredited law school and admission and good standing in the All China Lawyers Association (or other equivalent outside of China)7 years of validated experience handling investigationsExperience handling workplace investigations, including sexual harassment, expense fraud, discrimination, and conflicts of interestExperience handling complex and cross-border investigations, including anti-corruption investigations and accounting fraudWritten and oral fluency in English and Mandarin ChineseStrong interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsThe ability to independently handle and lead sophisticated matters, as well as manage multiple matters at one timeDemonstrated ability to think strategically about scoping, handling, and resolving investigationsFlexiblity with time zones to accommodate a global team

Preferred qualifications:

10 years+ experience is a plusFurther language fluency is a plusExperience in-house at a multi-national company or at a law firm advising multi-national businesses
