Inventory Supervisor (Supply Chain/Logistics)

Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with the experience and skills to join our team of logistics professionals as an Inventory Supervisor. In this role, you will provide leadership at a single warehousing location, directing and supporting associates to ensure inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer requirements are consistently met—while aligning with Penske’s goals and objectives.
In this role, Operations Supervisors will be bonus eligible based on their performance and location performance. Operations Supervisor could earn up to 12% of their base for Max Performance.
**Position Summary:**
Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including, cycle counts, audits, pallet breakdowns, in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervise most processes directly including workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.
+ Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and conduct full physical inventories as scheduled.
+ Cycle count set up and assigned. All equipment ready and accounted for. (assign to lead and validate completion, can be set the day before and suspended)
+ Review inventory areas for products that should have been put away or are out of place. And have them put away or reworked.
+ Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between system and physical counts
+ Verify location accuracy pick front and rack location
+ Maintain high inventory accuracy standards
+ Set and verify new dimensions for new item entering to warehouse
+ Execute spot audits and root-cause analysis for variances.
+ Document findings and coordinate corrective actions.
+ Support internal and external audits onsite.
+ Audit staged outbound orders for count and part number accuracy
+ Ensure adherence to FIFO, move orders and MRB.
+ Validate inventory movements tied to customer or internal orders
+ Enter and validate inventory transactions in WMS.
+ Ensure system updates match real-time physical movement
+ Manage controlled, high-value, or serialized items
+ Maintain secure storage and access controls
+ Work directly on the floor with:
+ Inventory Team and Operations Team
+ Identify space utilization or layout improvement opportunities
+ Maintain accurate documentation and approvals
+ Enforce inventory-related safety procedures
+ Ensure aisles, racks, and storage areas remain compliant with free damages
+ Participate in safety audits and inspections
+ Report inventory issues.
+ Provide variance reports, trend analysis, and recommendations
+ Participate in onsite operations meetings as needed
+ Physical verification of materials
+ Conduct safety observations
+ Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates.
+ Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
**Qualifications:**
• 2 - 4 years related functional experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
• Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency
• Must have ability to connect and build rapport/relationships with associates and external customers at all levels
• Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independently
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change
• Experience with inventory management system preferred
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
