Inventory Planner – EU Transportation Forecasting, EU Network Planning and Capacity, EU Logistics Capacity Management, EU Planning & Capacity
Description The EU Network Planning and Capacity team, responsible for planning the European transportation network, forecasts, plans, and optimizes the flow of billions of parcels each year. The network we plan sees trucks departing every minute across Europe, making the team responsible for one of the largest logistical planning operations in the world. We constantly face new types of problems and use a wide range of tools to find the right solutions, including SQL/Redshift, Quicksight/Tableau, Excel, as well as simple common sense and professional judgment. As an Inventory Planner you will help identify opportunities for system and process improvements, and build appropriate solutions. To succeed in this role, not only are excellent interpersonal and communication skills required, but also some analytical skills. Planning is primarily about connecting very diverse teams to a single vision and timeline, thus requiring very good management capabilities. Key job responsibilities Responsibilities in a Network Inventory Planner role include: • Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy of our forecasts, which involves owning projects from beginning to end: producing the analysis to understand the problem; convening a cross-functional team to resolve it; and monitoring the improvements you produce • Collaborate with teams with widely differing incentives to help them make the right trade-offs in terms of how the prepare for, and respond to, uncertainty, providing analysis that is sophisticated but easy to understand • Provide reports and analyses through tools, portals and databases (Redshift, SQL, Excel, Tableau, and/or other data management systems) to allow full visibility of both the plan and our execution against it. Basic Qualifications - Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared) - Good knowledge of SQL Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree - Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design - Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
