Job Summary
Manage all aspects of Material Management and Logistics services to customers. Responsible for the development, implementation, enforcement and assessment of departmental programs, plans, and policies, to assure the most effective utilization of human and organizational resources to support both department and medical center business strategies in all phases of Material Management and Logistics. Employee may access secure medication supply areas to complete assigned job duties
Responsibilities
• Continually monitor and assess trends affecting the Materials and Logistics of CAMC and benchmark against the best healthcare systems.
• Provide thought leadership in bringing solutions through process improvement, the application of practices, tools and technology that will improve productivity.
• Champion process excellence, continuous improvement and identify best practices and ensure cross sharing of them.
• Create a sound Materials and Logistics strategic plan.
• Develop sound policies and processes to ensure sound Materials and Logistics practices.
• Collaborate across all of CAMC’s corporate activities to support the goals and objectives of the Company.
• Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the distribution, warehouse and print shop operation including the selection and development of employees, employee discipline and pay administration. • Define and interpret the impact of changing requirements and define appropriate responses.
• Plan, develop, implement and continuously improve processes, stocking strategies to improve materials performance (turns, fill rate, etc.…)
• Prioritize the activities and the allocation of resources in the Material Management and Logistics function while balancing the short-term interests and the long-term interests.
• Effectively create and support process enhancement initiatives to maintain an environment of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Foster high performance teamwork.
• Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, records and documentation.
• Lead the activities of material flow analysis, stock balancing, ordering and fulfillment.
• Build strong, collegial relationships with business partners that foster a high level of trust rooted in best-in-class materials, processes and decisions.
• Provide leadership, coaching, guidance and direct daily operations of a team to achieve objectives and improve performance and skills. Encourage two way communications and promoted shared learning. Empower team members to resolve issues by delegating tasks to appropriate level.
• Lead the analysis and measurements into insights and strategies to plan materials volume and timing and to track and improve performance.
• Develop policies to define, manage and budget for excess, non-conforming and obsolete materials.
• Manage shrinkage operating expense budgets
. • Develop and manage the logistics operations budget.
• Continuously review processes, performance measures, technology and staffing to identify efficiency opportunities and operational optimization.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of documented controls (policies, procedures, processes and work instructions).
• Lead Supply Chain Management department efforts to ensure compliance with DNV/ISO Standards
• Utilize lean and six sigma concepts to build sustainable best practice capabilities by looking at all aspects of capability including people, work processes, system and work environment within Supply Chain Management.
