We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Controller to join our team in Knoxville, TN. This position is integral to ensuring the efficient handling of our materials and specimens. The role involves both physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing inventory. This is a full-time, 100% onsite position with working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with the potential for additional hours, including working every other Saturday.
ResponsibilitiesPerform physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, specimens, and equipment.Carry out administrative tasks related to inventory management using computer systems, internet applications, and telephonic communications.Receive materials, supplies, and specimens from delivery services, document receipts, and reconcile products against packing lists.Troubleshoot, communicate, investigate, and resolve in-bound and out-bound sample shipment delays.Organize materials, supplies, and specimens in appropriate storage areas and ensure inventory controls security and accountability.Prepare, organize, and maintain records of materials shipped to other locations.Follow all safety regulations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, ensuring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Maintain the facility, including the laboratory, grounds, and parking areas, and complete documentation as per company standards.Handle bio-hazardous waste safely and maintain the professional image and confidentiality of company records.Lift up to 50 pounds as required to perform daily tasks.Complete other job-related duties as assigned.Essential SkillsHigh School diploma or equivalent.Basic computer skills.Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications.Frequently walking, standing, and bending with a moderate amount of time squatting.Occasionally exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood borne pathogens.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with SAP preferred.Prior experience in material handling and/or maintenance.Experience with Microsoft Office, data entry, inventory control, and shipping and receiving.Experience with inventory management tools such as RF scanners.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in Knoxville, TN Lab, where you will work 100% onsite. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Opportunities for additional hours are available, requiring availability every other Saturday. The work environment is fast-paced with frequent interruptions, and requires the use of personal protective equipment. You will frequently perform tasks while walking and standing, occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures and blood borne pathogens.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.30 - $16.30/hr.
