Inventory Control Supervisor
Ensure that inventory is managed strategically, accurately and efficiently at the Distribution Center. This includes oversight of Inventory Control functions, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, slotting and utilization maintenance, as well as the Returns department with oversight of the processing ecomm, retail and wholesale returns and refunds, and the associated communication and actions that are required.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

Leadership, People Management & Development

Provide direct supervision and coaching to team leads and associates; evaluate performance, identify training needs, and foster development.Mentor high-potential team members and provide input on hiring, promotion, onboarding, and disciplinary actions.Support and coach team leads in managing their own direct reports effectively; ensure accountability across all levels.Drive the performance management cycle including goal setting, performance reviews, and recognition or corrective action.Proactively address employee relations matters, partnering with HR and escalating complex issues as needed.Oversee employee-related administrative functions in compliance with company policies and established deadlines.

Performance Management & Execution

Set clear, measurable performance goals using key performance indicators (KPIs); drive accountability for departmental results.Ensure timely, accurate handling and shipping of products across all functional areas.Complete and review required reports (e.g., productivity, safety, incident tracking); identify patterns and share insights with leadership.Collaborate with peers and cross-functional leaders to ensure seamless coordination of activities across departments.Ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and contribute to broader distribution and operational excellence programs.

Strategic & Operational Planning

Develop and execute short- and long-term operating plans to meet distribution center (DC) goals and daily schedule requirements.Monitor adherence to daily plans by tracking hourly production, flow rates, and inventory levels; take corrective actions when deviations occur.Analyze trends in safety, quality, and performance through active floor presence (MBWA) to drive operational improvements.Research inefficiencies and recommend process, system, or policy improvements to enhance productivity and quality.Participate in or lead budget-related activities, using data to inform labor planning and cost management.

Collaboration & Communication

Maintain strong cross-functional communication with internal teams, leadership, and external partners to support operational alignment.Use downstream implications to make well-informed decisions that benefit the broader operation, not just the immediate area of responsibility.Act as a liaison between hourly teams and leadership to ensure consistent messaging, expectations, and feedback flow.

Safety, Compliance & Maintenance

Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, Prescribed Work Methods (PWM), and compliance protocols across all assigned areas.Monitor safety and maintenance reports, lead local initiatives, and escalate unresolved risks to leadership.Identify and address unsafe behaviors or policy violations promptly, reinforcing a culture of safety and accountability.

Additional Responsibilities-

Other duties as necessary to maintain Distribution Center daily operations.Flexibly to support other areas of the business or projects as needed, stepping in for leadership coverage, special initiatives, training, or process pilots.

JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Onsite at the Distribution CentreDemonstrable experience in WMS, database query management (AS400 is preferred).System knowledge of Ortec, Commander, PKMS, would be an advantage.Leverage Microsoft Office and other systems to complete intermediate to advanced reporting, analysis, and calculationsTranslate organizational goals and operating reports into actionable plans and decisionsUnderstand and apply basic Provincial, Federal, and Compliance regulations, laws, and internal policiesPlan and coordinate daily operations to meet distribution schedules and balance workloads across teamsDetermine how to best execute personal tasks, including prioritization, equipment use, and system toolsLead self and others through change with resilience and adaptabilityProblem-solve and think critically to address operational challenges and opportunitiesMentor and coach colleagues across the function to improve performance, develop skills, and support growthFoster collaboration and alignment across teams to drive productivity and operational resultsKeep the department and DC Health and Safety compliant and reinforce a culture of safety and accountabilityResolve conflicts constructively and maintain positive working relationships across levelsDetail oriented, highly organized and ability to work autonomouslyPerform other general duties as requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsMust be able to work independently and/or in a group environmentMust have excellent communication skills, work ethic, punctual and reliableProficient with English.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

High School Diploma or equivalent3+ year(s) experience in Warehousing, Distribution, Inventory Management, operations or equivalent in a Leadership capacity
