Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, WMS bin integrity, and audit-compliant processes across the distribution center. This role acts as a key liaison between Receiving, Supply Chain, Marketing, and external partners to ensure inventory is accurate, compliant, and available for fulfillment.

This is a Monday-Friday 40 hours/week shift 8:30am to 5:00pm on site role working out of the Mississauga, ON locations. 

Base Salary: $50,000 - $57,000 annually 

WMS Bin Management:

Plan, prioritize, and execute cycle counts in accordance with audit and compliance standardsInvestigate and escalate inventory discrepancies to the Supply Chain team while providing recommendations derived from root cause analysesMaintain pick bin quantities in WMS, adjusting counts as issues arise through counting, replenishment, or operational exceptionsCalculate, configure, and maintain pick bin MIN / MAX levels to support efficient fulfillment and replenishmentAudit bulk and reserve inventory locations as required to ensure system accuracyCreate and maintain dedicated pick bins for specific sales channels or programs as directed by Supply Chain (e.g., Ecommerce)Print and deploy barcode labels as needed, including support for major bin resets, relocations, or re-slotting initiativesDevelop an accurate and auditable database of available open pick bins to support warehouse planning and growth.Maintain item weights and dimensions among other item master settings in WMS

Inbound Inspections:

Perform First Piece Inspections (FPI) on inbound SKUs as flagged by Supply Chain, triggered through the Receiving process.Release SKUs that pass FPI into available-to-post (ATP) inventory.Escalate FPI failures related to barcode accuracy, packaging/marketing graphics, or product quality; partner with Supply Chain and/or Marketing to determine corrective actions.Maintain an auditable tracking system for sensitive inventory with expiration and/or regulatory language requirements, ensuring sensitive inventory undergoes FPI prior to release.

Other Special Projects:

Coordinate and execute repack and conversion efforts for inbound sensitive inventory requiring rework or relabeling.Maintain counts and procure over labels, cartons, and other rework materials necessary to support conversion and rework operations.Respond to fluctuations in sensitive inventory driven by inbound volume spikes, sales activity, or marketing initiatives.Conduct inventory audits with external suppliers to ensure accuracy and visibility of inventory held offsite.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent2-5 years of inventory control or supply chain planningProficiency in Excel to combine reports and derive conclusions from data, print and organize work for team members for special projectsStrong analytical skills to identify potential improvements in bin layout and identify stock discrepancies systematically, and run ABC velocity analysesFamiliar with WMS and comfortable interacting with systemsStrong attention to detail to maintain accuracy during cycle counts, inventory management,Excellent organizational skillsDemonstrates initiative and responsibility in all tasks in support of department and business goalsStrong team player with proven experience positively interacting across multiple departmentsAbility to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervisionProblem solver with good math skills, that can self manage assigned work safely, accurately, and efficientlyExcellent listening skills, with the ability to follow instructions with accuracyAvailability to work periodic overtime including weekends

Physical Requirements

Lift, lower, squat, push, pull items and materials of various sizes, up to and including, 50 lbs.Walk and Stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete floor
