This position works out of our Costa Rica – Alajuela location in the EP Division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the Inventory Control Specialist, you will collaborate with the Supply Chain teams in all the Latin American countries: Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. Working under general supervision, supports the development and implementation of policies and procedures needed to assist in the management of inventory levels of ABBOTT products. Maintain necessary files, documents, and reports as required. Recommend, interprets and implements specific policies and procedures to accomplish assignments and resolves a broad range of issues and problems. Identify and routinely use the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness. Exercise judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitos performance and report status within area of responsibility. Assure that quality of services meet internal and external customer requirements.
What You’ll Do
Collaborates and provides data to assist with product line operational decisions to support some or all of the following initiatives:Reduce inventory levels without decreasing customer service levels.Minimize supply chain scrap expenses.Improve asset management.Optimize raw material, sub assembly and/or finished goods flow.Eliminate customer backorders. Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules/business demands by working with forecasting data/teams, planning teams, commodity teams and shipping/receiving teams.Implements and tracks inventory policies to standardize the safety stock calculation, inventory consignment controls and cycle inventory counts for all LATAM.Prepare and perform monthly follow-up presentations to inform inventory trends and plans accomplishment by country. Also, recommends the TOP opportunities each Supply Chain Manager should be focused on.Facilitates vendor corrective action and partners with SQE and suppliers to improve quality.Demand & supply forecasts analysis to ensure all relevant business requirements, trends, phase-in/out strategies are incorporated and appropriately reflected. This applies for all LATAM countries including ABBOTT sales offices but also Distributors.Extracts data from ERP system to create various excel spreadsheets used to identify inventory management, expired inventory, stock rotation initiatives and other inventory/stocking issues. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the information that is entered in the ERP system.Assists with system implementations (like SAP-APO) to improve forecasting and demand requirements planning.Prepares, summarizes and submits data accuracy, delivery performance & other key metrics to assess performance. Publishes pre-established KPI's as required for all inventory related metrics including: forecast accuracy, DIOH, scrap reporting, line order fill rate, stock levels and PD delivery performance.Analyzes accuracy of product identifiers in reports and systems by planning for new products and obsoleting outdated products.Identifies and participates in process improvement projects that improve customer service levels, improve product flows, minimize supply chain costs and improve asset management. Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.Required Qualifications
Bachelor or Licenciatura's degree in engineering or related career or having successfully covered at least 75% of the curriculum at the University to obtain this degree and is currently studying.0-3 previous experience in supply chain inventory, analysis or planning preferred.Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.Proficiency in computer applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Access).Advance Commands of English / Required (verbal and written communications) with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.Preferred Qualifications
