Job Description
We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and supporting operational efficiency. This role involves maintaining precise records of raw materials, collaborating with various departments, and implementing process improvements.
ResponsibilitiesReconcile variances and investigate inventory discrepancies.Perform root cause analysis for inventory issues.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.Maintain accurate records of raw materials and components in the ERP system.Support incoming inspection and ensure proper labeling and stock rotation using FIFO methodology.Collaborate with procurement and production to forecast inventory needs and develop control procedures.Assist in physical inventories and audit preparation.Analyze inventory trends and recommend actions to minimize slow-moving or obsolete stock.Generate weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly inventory reports for internal use and management review.Ensure inventory processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent.3+ years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably in manufacturing.Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor).Strong computer skills, including Excel for data analysis and reporting (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree or higher in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and timing belt materials/components is a plus.Ability to operate material handling equipment; Forklift certification is a plus.Work Environment
The role involves spending 70% of the time in an office setting and 30% on the floor. There will be a mobile workstation available during time spent on the floor. This position offers an opportunity for growth within the company, particularly in the supply chain department or other areas.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, Connecticut.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
