DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service
Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service.
Receiving, Deliveries & Verification
Receive all DSD (Direct Store Delivery) deliveries and log all non‑Albertsons/Tom Thumb distribution deliveries into the system.
Break down loads from DSD suppliers and transport product to freezer or cooler as needed.
Verify orders against invoices, audit case contents, and use the electronic receiving system to ensure cost accuracy.
Review and accept only correct orders submitted by outside sales representatives.
Maintain invoices and reports according to the established filing system and record retention schedule.
Inventory, Shrink & Product Handling
Prevent shrink, damage, and spoilage of products.
Repair and price damaged items if sellable; discard or return unsellable items to vendors as required.
Ensure proper code‑dating compliance for all products.
Control shrink and cost through accurate receiving, handling, and documentation.
Backroom Safety, Organization & Equipment
Maintain security, sanitation, and organization of receiving, storage, and loading dock areas.
Inspect backroom equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, baler) and report malfunctions to the Store Director.
Operate related equipment, including:
Manual and electric pallet jacks
Power lifts
Balers and compactors
Safety cutters and scissors
Pricing guns
Telephones, hand‑held units, printers, and other computer equipment
Department Support
Perform backup duties such as ordering, stocking, stacking, facing/conditioning, pricing, marking, and rotating dairy and frozen products when clerks are absent.
Follow and maintain all department standards and requirements.
Training, Leadership & Development
Train employees in store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping requirements.
Identify and develop employees who show high potential for advancement.
Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
Compliance, Safety & Procedures
Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules, sanitation standards, and equipment cleanliness.
Implement emergency procedures when equipment or software malfunctions occur.
Comply with all company grooming standards and dress code.
Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
Other
Perform all other necessary and required duties to support department and store operations
