Inventory Control Manager

Description

Inventory Management & Accuracy:

Oversee the tracking and management of inventory within the distribution center to ensure accuracy and consistency.Implement procedures to maintain inventory levels in line with operational needs, ensuring the correct stock is available for distribution.Conduct regular cycle counts, quarterly and annual physical inventories, and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system inventories.This role will need to be able to flex and support other supply chain projects.

Warehouse Operations Coordination:

Work closely with the warehouse and operations teams to ensure timely, accurate picking, packing, and shipping of goods.Manage stock organization in the warehouse, ensuring that all products are labeled, stored, and moved efficiently.Oversee inventory flow to ensure stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize product obsolescence.Manage bin location assignments, to include inventory optimization for high density SKUs to maximize picking efficiency.Consistent gathering, inputting and evaluating inventory volumetric data (previous Cubiscan usage and familiarization preferred).

Inventory Data & Reporting:

Monitor inventory performance using key metrics such as stock levels, inventory turnover, and order fulfillment rates.Generate and present regular reports on inventory performance, stock discrepancies, and areas for improvement.Use inventory data to forecast demand, support procurement decisions, and ensure the availability of goods in line with customer needs.

Team Leadership & Training:

Lead, supervise, and motivate inventory and warehouse staff to meet operational goals and KPIs.Provide training and development opportunities for team members to improve their inventory management and operational efficiency.Conduct performance evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Process Optimization & Efficiency:

Evaluate and streamline inventory control processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.Identify and implement best practices for inventory handling, storage, and movement to optimize warehouse operations.Utilize technology, such as warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning, to improve inventory tracking and reporting.

Supplier & Vendor Relationships:

Coordinate with suppliers, vendors and category managers to ensure the timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues related to shipments, orders, or stock discrepancies.Align with internal category managers and DC buyers ensuring that inventory levels match projected demand and reorder points to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all inventory management practices comply with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.Lead efforts to maintain a safe and organized environment in the distribution center, adhering to OSHA and other safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

\t• Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a distribution center environment

\t• Previous experience in a leadership role

\t• Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., WMS, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting).

PREFERRED SKILLS

\t• Familiarity with advanced warehouse technologies (e.g., RFID, automated picking systems, ASRS, WMS and WCS).

\t• Certification in inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CILT).

Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
