Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of The Pivot Academy

Do you believe in the transformative power of education?

At Pivot, we ensure you have the time and support to shape futures.

Join our mission to inspire and empower learners, and make a lasting impact on their lives.

At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 2 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some traumatic backgrounds.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Interventions Mentor to join the Pivot Kirklees team. The Pivot Academy Kirklees offers a therapeutic nurture provision for learners with complex social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and other associated needs. We recognise each of our learners as unique with different experiences and offer a pathway to reflect their individual needs and support success.

This is a crucial role in supporting our learners to achieve success by planning and delivering academic and holistic intervention programmes. The role will require someone who has the ability to recognise potential barriers, think creatively in how to overcome these and ensure these are communicated appropriately. The ideal candidate will have experience with communication interaction, although this is not essential to the post.

Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change the lives of our learners and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience.

Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now by completing an application form and returning to the HR team at recruitment@pivot-group.co.uk.

Closing Date:    11 June 2025

Interviews:        18 June 2025

Start Date:        1 September 2025

We are committed to safeguarding our young people and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.

During the shortlisting process, Pivot will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence.
