The interdisciplinary team, consisting of technical experts, business, IP, and management professionals, focuses on developing sensor platforms in material science. Members have backgrounds in electronics, chemistry, chemical engineering, and mechanical engineering. Daily activities include R&D product development, process optimization, and lab work. Operating internationally at Philips and collaborating with universities, the team impacts sensor development in material science applications. Their work primarily utilizes laboratory-based equipment.

Your role:
The intern will support process development in material science, focusing on laboratory work, literature study, and protocol development for sensors.
The role offers exposure to R&D in a lab setting, process optimization, and hands-on experience in material science and chemical engineering.
The position is suitable for students seeking practical R&D experience and can be combined with thesis work if coordinated with their university.

Master’s student in the field of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or material science with good understanding and enthusiasm for learning about new materials
Skilled with literature study, experimental design, lab work and data analysis
Experience in chemical R&D environment and affinity towards multidisciplinary research.
Familiarity with material characterization and data processing techniques.
Proficient in scientific writing and reporting.
Nice to have: experience with Matlab, some Python knowledge, prior work with metal-organic
