Internship: Climate Action Project Management (non-thesis)

You’ll support our carbon neutrality goals by enhancing project management, climate risk assessments, EcoDesign innovation, and carbon pricing strategies—helping us deliver meaningful health innovations responsibly while limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
**Your role**
+ Collaborate with the Climate Action Program Director to oversee emission reduction initiatives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and the execution of carbon neutrality strategies. Take a proactive role in supporting businesses in their decarbonization efforts.
+ Contribute to climate risk assessments by working with the climate risk management team to quantify the potential value at risk due to climate change. Assist in developing strategies to mitigate these risks and enhance value chain resilience.
+ Support the EcoDesign innovation pipeline by helping integrate sustainability criteria into the product development process. Assist in researching new low-carbon technologies and design strategies that contribute to emission reductions.
+ Aid in the implementation of internal carbon pricing mechanisms to incentivize sustainable business decisions. Conduct research and benchmarking to enhance our carbon pricing strategies and help translate findings into actionable insights.
+ Assist in external reporting and disclosures, ensuring compliance with frameworks such as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). Collect and analyze key data from internal stakeholders to support transparent and accurate climate reporting.
+ Drive alignment within and outside the Group Sustainability Office (GSO) team by facilitating collaboration with internal departments, such as Procurement, Innovation, and Operations, to accelerate sustainability initiatives
+ Organize webinars, interactive events, and engagement activities to raise awareness and foster cross-functional collaboration on climate action and EcoDesign.
**You're the right fit if**
+ Degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Policy, Sustainability.
+ Passionate about sustainability and climate action. Knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, carbon accounting, and major disclosure frameworks is strongly preferred.
+ Strong project management skills: ability to prioritize, plan, and drive multiple initiatives to completion.
+ Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Power Query is a plus) and data analysis tools.
+ Ability to translate complex sustainability data into clear, engaging presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Self-starter with a proactive mindset, able to drive actions independently while aligning with strategic objectives.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and collaborate across different teams and stakeholder groups.
+ Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
**How we work together**
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
**What we offer you**
+ Monthly full-time allowance ranging from €500 to €700 gross, depending on your educational level. Part-time internships will receive a pro-rata allowance.
+ Housing compensation for relocation near the office: €300 net for locations near Amsterdam, and €255 net for other Philips locations. To qualify, you must provide a rental contract from your landlord, and your regular home-to-work travel distance must be at least 50 km or your one-way travel time must be 1.5 hours or longer.
+ Travel compensation of up to €145 net if you are not eligible for a free public transport card.
+ Paid holidays for the duration of the internship term.
+ Opportunity to purchase Philips equipment at our Philips shop.
**Important**
+ Part of our selection procedure is a HireVue online interview recording. We are not able to share the outcome of this HireVue interview but will use this as extra selection criteria.
+ In order to be considered, you have to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation will be requested. Students from outside the EU enrolled at a Dutch university need to fill in a NUFFIC agreement – which needs to be signed by the student and the university.
+ Please note that the contents of our regular internship assignments are not suitable for professionals (and/or MBA students) with professional work experience.
