What you'll do

Prior to its Viasat acquisition, Inmarsat was a UK multinational group, and we have a significant number of UK and international entities. This role will play a key part in ensuring that we comply with international tax laws and file returns on a timely basis.

This role will also assist in preparing tax disclosures for statutory accounts and fulfilling global tax obligations. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of people both within the tax department and the wider commercial organization.


The day-to-day

You will - 

Support the preparation of International Corporation Tax computations in conjunction with outsourced advisorsEnsure payments made to tax authorities in a timely mannerPrepare the current and deferred tax notes for inclusion in the statutory accountsPrepare tax forecasts for inclusion in cash budgetUndertake balance sheet controls and ensure compliance with internal controls for taxAssist on Pillar 2 and Country by Country submissionsManage tax authority audit requests

Understanding the business is critically important especially given the diverse nature of operations around the world. You will need to be adept at gathering and interpreting data provided by colleagues within the business.

You will be part of our Global Tax Team and can expect to be working with finance and commercial colleagues in Europe, the US, Canada and elsewhere on a regular basis.


What you'll need

Relevant professional qualification (for example CTA / ACA / ACCA)Track record of tax accounting and tax compliance mattersProficient in international corporate tax for multinational organizations, with a focus on UK groups and their foreign subsidiaries.

An enthusiasm for accuracy and attention to detail.The ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time, and to multi-task as needed.The confidence to interact with individuals / groups at all levels within the organization.Being able to ask the right questions to make sure that we have all the necessary information to make appropriate tax decisions, and to be able to analyze new data including working with external partners where necessary.Readiness to interact with ERP systems and other tools to gather dataDue to the global nature of the business, you will need to be able to have some flexibility in your working hours to accommodate occasional meetings with people in other time zones.
