The Opportunity
The Global Tax Desk network has revolutionized the way businesses receive international tax advice. EY’s Global Tax Desk network is recognized in the industry as a leading practice, which has differentiated EY in the marketplace and has contributed greatly to our reputation as the most globally integrated professional services firm. Our Global Tax Desks brings cross-border insights to our clients globally. The Desk Network provides our multinational clients with real-time advice on multi-country and international tax issues wherever their operations are based. Professionals working on the Global Tax Desk bring deep technical knowledge of their home country tax systems, promise unique insights on major client engagements and develop new solutions for our worldwide tax practice.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior on the Global Tax Desk, you will work on tax and transfer engagements, and apply your tax knowledge of your home country tax policies to resolve specific multinational client issues. You will contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely, integrated and deeply knowledgeable global tax advice. You will help develop and deliver timely and high-quality services and work products. You will research complex tax issues and develop practical tax solutions. You will thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Additionally, you will assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex and judgmental areas. You will discuss complex home country tax issues with engagement teams and client management. You will share tax planning ideas with others and participate in client meetings and work within a team environment to deliver fully integrated tax services to clients. You will keep informed of current home country tax laws and US tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. You will fluently explain home country tax issues in the host country’s technical vocabulary. You will consistently bring clients relevant insight on new developments and provide thought leadership based on in-depth knowledge of numerous tax systems and how they relate to each other. Lastly, you will prepare and deliver presentations for clients and tax conferences.

To qualify for the role, you must have
• The equivalent of a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant international tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry; or a graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
• The equivalent of a bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, economics or a related field (an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable)
• The equivalent of a Certified Public Accountant certification and/or Certified Tax Advisor certification in their respective home jurisdiction
• Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment
Ideally you’ll also have
• Host Country language proficiency is highly desirable
• Broad exposure to US international taxation
• Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational and verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated business development skills.
