Job Overview:
The Internal Auditor works with the Internal Audit Team to execute a comprehensive, risk-based audit program focused on 1) adequacy and propriety of internal and operational controls, 2) assessment of efficiency and effectiveness of processes and systems and 3) identification of performance improvement and best practice opportunities. Audit scope includes, but is not limited to, financial, operational and compliance controls reviews, IT control reviews where applicable, fraud detection as well as client assistance and projects as requested by Management. The Internal Auditor collaborates with Senior Internal Auditors and the Internal Audit Manager in order to conduct independent, objective audits in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards, managing multiple projects and priorities, and ensuring effective communication to Management of results/recommendations to assist in achievement of business objectives.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance
Knowledge of auditing standards and analytical skills
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
1-3 years Professional, Accounting, Internal Auditing, Public Accounting
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in external audits as appropriate, collaborating with the external auditors to complete work assigned and provide feedback to the external auditors at the conclusion of the external audit engagement. Communicates and prepares meeting agendas and status reports to facilitate discussion with immediate supervisor and upper management about audit activities in progress and emerging issues with the client in a timely and proactive manner.
Supports team in conducting audits/projects in accordance with IIA standards including development of appropriate documentation to support audit work performed. This includes developing process walkthroughs, identifying risks and controls, executing test procedures and drafting reports. In addition to performing projects from the annual audit plan, this individual may also support special projects within the team and across the organization. Provide adequate and timely communication of audit results, findings and recommended corrective action. Conduct timely follow-up reviews. Stay abreast of internal audit and healthcare industry trends, new legislation, regulatory requirements and areas of interest through research and collaboration with others in the healthcare and/or internal audit communities. Provide best practice solutions to Management as deemed necessary.
