BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW

The primary role of Internal Audit is to help protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organisation. Internal Audit independently assesses the firm’s internal control structure. We provide assurance that financial reporting is reliable, that there is compliance with applicable laws and regulations and that the firm’s operations are effectively controlled. We assist management in identifying risk and commercially managing risk by providing advice in developing control solutions and monitoring the implementation of management’s control measures.

Internal Audit assists the firm’s Board of Directors’ Audit Committee in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities and regularly interacts with the external independent auditors. Internal Audit is organised into global teams of business and technology auditors:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
General Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of business areas, its products, and supporting functions of  Goldman Sachs Bank SE (GSBE)Proactively identifying emerging risks of new and growing operations of GSBE to in order help the organization achieve its strategic objectivesAssist in every step of an audit, including documentation, across scoping, planning, fieldwork and reportingPerforming walkthroughs with stakeholders to perform control design assessments and presenting results of work performed to managementExecute audit testing to ensure audit fieldwork is focused on the right areas and documentation meets high quality standardsIdentify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environmentPrepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to Internal Audit senior management and business stakeholdersFollow-up on open audit issues and their resolutionValidating management’s actions to remediate regulatory findings Establish and maintain internal client relationships and regularly interact with the business during the year to assess changes in the control environment and other matters arising in the business.Participate in department-wide initiatives aimed at continually improving IA's processes and supporting infrastructure

Specific Audit Skills and Experience:

6+ years of experience in internal audit or a related control function in financial services industrySolid understanding and knowledge of concepts and operations related to Treasury related risks specifically liquidity , market and/or credit riskAble to demonstrate good understanding of asset liability management and its impact on liquidity and funding risks Familiarity of EU risk and liquidity related regulations, such as Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) incorporated in the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and Basel capital rulesExperience of transformation projects focusing on evaluating, recommending and implementing process driven enhancements with risk mitigating emphasis 

General Skills and Experience:

Able to work under minimal supervision on individual tasks or on team projects Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityHighly motivated with strong analytical skills, willing and able to learn new business and system processes quickly Accurate, accountable and able to multitask while managing both time and work load4-year degree in a finance, accounting, or quantitative discipline, and ideally a graduate degree in a related subject; advanced degree is a plus. Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g. FRM, CIA, CFA) is a plus ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS   At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
