Intern (Sri Lanka) - Quality Assurance Engineer

We’re looking for the next generation of talented undergraduates to join our team for an unforgettable **6 month internship.** **Job Description** An individual stepping into the technology world with a drive to learn and work with supervision and guidance on functional and non-functional testing using the latest industry-standard testing methodologies, coding techniques, and automation tools. **Personal Attributes** + Avid in learning and exploring the latest technology + An individual with an amiable attitude + Good team player and willing to work in challenging environments + Good analytical and communication skills **Responsibilities** + Work in an agile team adapting the DevOps culture + Identify test cases for user stories allocated using test design techniques + Automate feasible test cases using established automation frameworks + Perform both automated and manual test executions + Report bugs with all required information against failures observed **Skills & Expertise** + A sound knowledge in Object Oriented Programming concepts + A good understanding in Software Engineering methodologies and principles + A general understanding of Relational or NoSQL database technologies + Excellent ability to pay attention to detail, with good analytical and troubleshooting skills + A self-driven person who can learn and grasp knowledge quickly + Good knowledge in at least one general-purpose programming language (Java, C#, Python, etc.) + Awareness of latest industry trends such as Cloud Computing, Virtualization Concepts, Containerization Technology, Microservice Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, etc. **Qualifications & Experience** + Undergraduate (final year) or Graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent disciplines **Minimum Requirements** + Effective written and verbal communication skills + Demonstrated ability to function in a team setting, contributing to a positive team environment + Familiarity with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) or equivalent + Able to get to the designated Pearson worksite/office for this particular role.
