Nelnet Financial Services (NFS) is seeking an intern to join the NFS investments team, with a focus on structured finance investments/asset management. The hire will assist with a wide range of tasks related to the investment process including risk assessment, underwriting and performance tracking.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide investment analysis assistance across various specialty finance asset classes including consumer unsecured, auto, small business, home improvement and other loan types
Collaborate internally with employees and departments to accomplish work projects
Maintain and update comparable deal tracker
Complete special projects as assigned by management
Manage multiple conflicting priorities & consistently meet deadlines
EDUCATION:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
EXPERIENCE:
Relevant coursework in finance, accounting and business
Prior internship in finance or accounting preferred
COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
Attention to detail.
PC skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
Good oral and written communication.
Ability to follow directions. Willingness to learn new processes.
Knowledge of accounting practice and procedures.
Energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
Good work ethic and habits.
