PPG is looking for a talented individual, who has a passion for cloud environments. As a Cloud Services Intern/Trainee you will analyze, design, implement, tune, and manage IT infrastructure in our cloud environments. This role will exist within the Cloud Architecture/Services team within PPG’s Cloud Center of Excellence. It aligns with PPG’s Cloud Only strategy by offering a successful candidate hands-on experience in managing, monitoring, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will gain practical knowledge of cloud platforms, automation tools, and operational best practices in a dynamic enterprise environment. This role will support PPG’s Corporate Functions and Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) worldwide.

Key Responsibilities  

Assist in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI, or Alibaba cloud).Manage and continuously improve PPG’s public cloud Landing Zones by implementing architecture, governance, and security standards.Collaborate with cloud architects, security architects, and frontline IT teams to ensure cloud security and regulatory compliance.Help automate routine operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate incidents as needed.Document processes, configurations, and operational procedures.Optimize the cost of cloud spend through rightsizing, waste-finding, and reserved instances.  Demonstrate a passion for learning, keeping up to date on technical advancements, and industry trends.  

Qualifications  

Currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology and Management, or a related field.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Enthusiasm for learning in a fast-paced environment.Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI, or Alibaba cloud).Familiarity with cloud automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, Ansible) or scripting languages (Powershell, Python, Bash) are considered a plus.
