The vision of Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is to be the global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and service of engine fuel, lubrication, and thermal management systems and components for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. By leveraging our expertise in analysis, atomization, combustion, fluid metering, and control — coupled with enterprise excellence — we will exceed customer expectations and achieve our business objectives.
Opportunity:
Full time engineering internship opportunity at the Fluid Systems Division of Parker Aerospace located in Naples, FL.
Responsibilities:
1. Acquire knowledge of Fluid System Division - Naples main product lines.
2. Learn and understand cross functional roles and responsibilities as they relate to products.
3. Summarize and compile data regarding product issues.
4. Share findings with appropriate product teams to identify and select "Key Characteristics."
5. Create and manage a rolling action item list to monitor and control “Key Characteristics.”
6. Learn Enovia adequately to perform assigned engineering research
7. Support research and development efforts for composite structures (oil vessel).
8. Support testing of composites in the development lab.
9. Support the engineering team with research of varies topics/issues and writing of reports.
Qualifications:
- Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at an accredited university, in area of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and have completed course work in Fluid Dynamics and Stress Analysis.
- Fundamental knowledge of engineering domain principles, concepts, and techniques.
- Fundamental knowledge of and proficiency with basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to work with general direction and instruction regarding the scope of assignments; determines the priority and order of assignments; and applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all contacts.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and a passion for engineering.
- Prior work experience in related industry preferred.
