Intern Conversion - Mechanical Design Engineer
Mechanical Design Engineer to work with cross functional team to design, develop, test and implement lifesaving medical devices. In this position you will design parts and assemblies that are part of Stryker’s defibrillator / monitor products. You may work on a variety of designs including plastic parts, electronics packaging, electro-mechanical systems, wire harnesses and cables, patient interfacing accessories and power systems. You will develop design concepts, conduct feasibility studies, build and perform evaluation testing on prototypes and perform analysis on designs. Key Areas of Responsibility: Technical Responsibilities: + Design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components for medical devices. + Assist with prototyping and bench testing. + Support problem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements. + Conduct research and studies to support product design. Business Responsibilities: + Understand the product’s intended use and clinical procedures. Med Device Compliance: + Understand fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which align with regulatory requirements. + Create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file per company design control procedures. General Responsibilities: + Work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success. + Demonstrate ownership and integrity of work. + Build stable relationships.
