**Your role and responsibilities**
You are a passionate and technically skilled individual desiring to help grow and enable a vibrant ecosystem around our quantum computing platform. This role sits at the intersection of enablement, education, and community engagement—ideal for someone who has considerable appreciation for a wide range of scientific disciplines, thrives on explaining complex concepts, and enjoys devising creative solutions to difficult problems. As a Quantum Developer Advocate Intern, you will work together with quantum researchers, software developers, and educators. In this role, you will provide exceptional support in advancing some of our workforce development and community initiatives. This role will give you the necessary exposure and experience to our quantum education and enablement strategy across multiple ecosystems. You must be passionate not only for technology but also for working collaboratively on projects and delivering only the highest quality results. The ideal candidate must also possess communication skills appropriate for engaging scientists and developers while teaching complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Strong background in physics, chemistry, computer science or similar
* Demonstrated proficiency in Python and Qiskit SDK
* Understanding of common quantum algorithms
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to disseminate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* General knowledge of superconducting qubits
* Familiarity with quantum error suppression and mitigation techniques
* Practical experience executing workloads on IBM quantum devices
* Familiarity with limitations of classical computing
* Publication(s) in the area of quantum computational science
