We aim to solve complex problems the world’s most powerful supercomputers cannot solve, and never will. Roles and Responsibilities: As a theoretical research scientist with IBM Quantum, your job will be to advance the field of quantum computing. Areas of research include quantum error correction, fault tolerant algorithms, information theory, and compilation. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Experience in academic graduate program related to applicable area of quantum computing, such as error correction, fault tolerant algorithms, information theory, or compilation * Coursework or projects in applicable area * Experience performing theoretical research * Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages such as Python **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Strong publication record in high-impact journals * Programming experience in core & scientific language (e.g. python, numpy, scipy, matplotlib) and Qiskit * Familiarity with Git and/or Github IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
