Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? Engineering Product Integrity has an opening for a System Safety and Reliability engineer to work on the next generation of Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines. This position will lead efforts to analyze the system design and establish requirements that drive safety and reliability into the design to ensure the safety and reliability of P&W products is world class. **What You Will Do** + Responsibilities may include working on tasks related to commercial engines, military engines or both depending on business need. May be required to obtain a security clearance. + Model-based systems engineering. + Working with engineers throughout the organization, evaluate systems interactions across the entire propulsion system + Support P&W Integrated Product Teams, Chief Engineer, Airframe manufacturers, Suppliers, and Customers in reviewing, assessing, and influencing engine designs to optimize safety-related metrics and assure safety requirements (CFR 14 or equivalent Parts 33 and 25 or Mil-Std-882) are met. + Generating Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), reliability allocations and predictions, and integrating controls system reliability analyses into the propulsion systems analyses. + Defining component reliability requirements based on derivation of system requirements + Leading Safety and Reliability customer technical interchange meetings, Safety Working Group Meetings, driving reliability and safety in subsystem IPT, CIPT and SIPT integration activities and reviews with internal and external customers and air system contractors + Contributing to reliability and safety design requirements based on derivation of the customer specification, creating reliability, maintainability/human factors and safety design assessment artifacts in accordance with engineering standard work. + Monitor the status of reliability and safety metrics to identify emerging issues and adverse trends, working with the responsible IPTs/CIPTs/Customer Support Engineering to identify root cause and corrective actions. **What You Will Learn** + Engineering Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. + Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Enrolled in a degree program in Engineering or a related field + Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA **What We Offer** + Relocation will be offered for those who qualify. + On the job training provided. **Learn More & Apply Now!** This position is classified as **onsite** . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
