We are excited to offer an internship opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Technician in the commercial construction industry. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in interpreting blueprints, scheduling projects, gathering key information, and preparing documents. The intern will work closely with architects, contractors, outside sales representatives, and tapered estimators, developing valuable skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment. While prior experience is beneficial, candidates with a passion for learning and a basic understanding of Microsoft applications and CAD software are encouraged to apply.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Blueprint Exposure: Assist in the interpretation of architectural blueprints and project documentation to understand the basics of roofing & wall projects. Project Support: Provide support in project scheduling and contribute to maintaining project schedules under the guidance of experienced team members. Information Gathering: Collaborate with team members to gather key project information and contribute to the documentation process. Document Assistance: Learn and contribute to the preparation of CAD drawings and documents with guidance from experienced team members. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other team members to learn about effective communication and collaboration in a professional setting. Software Proficiency: Develop basic proficiency in Microsoft applications and CAD software through hands-on learning and mentorship. Introduction to Revit and Construction (Desired): Gain exposure to Revit and the basics of construction projects, if applicable to the team's projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Currently pursuing a degree in CAD technology, architecture, or a related field. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for the commercial roofing industry and eagerness to learn.
