About the role Responsible for beginning the process of learning the fundamentals of building and repairing new and existing molds, tooling, and automation components in a safe, clean, and efficient manner under the guidance of experienced toolmakers. Responsibilities Ensures safety guarding is in place, and all areas of work are clean, neat, and organized Begins the process of understanding: Tooling specifications, blueprints, and sketches Set up and operation of mills, lathes, grinders, including CNC controlled, and other machining equipment Making and repairing cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges Takes direction from experienced toolmakers, production supervisor, or tool room manager Learns to analyze the assignment and proceed in a professional manner until the assignment is complete Gains an understanding of completing assignments in a timely manner and within proper quality specifications Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Ability to gain knowledge of using precise measuring instruments Self-motivated and capable of retaining knowledge acquired from experienced toolmakers Interest in attaining knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance Ability to communicate clearly Ability to work as part of a team and properly take direction Ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds Ability to communicate in verbal and written English Education & Experience Currently enrolled in college or high school Travel Up to 1% may be required What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
