Position Description
Minimum Education The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board’s Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for undergraduate and graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board’s internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.
Position Requirements
About the Team & Role: The End User Services (EUS) section provides front-line IT support and customer advocacy in handling service requests for over 500 users in the Division of Supervision and Regulation (S&R) with a vision to provide the best user experience from beginning to end. The intern in EUS will provide onsite Tier 1/2/3 helpdesk and desktop support to supplement the current team of technicians supporting 500 S&R users. The intern will also have opportunities to research and recommend technologies, gain project management skills and create new operation processes and procedures. It is a great opportunity for a candidate who has a passion for technologies, and who is seeking growth and practical experience with diverse sets of technologies, learning new skillsets, and to build a career in a team friendly organization. Suggested Major/Minor: Sophomore or above college student majoring in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering. Required Skills and Knowledge: · Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems · Experience working with Microsoft O365 Apps · Practical understanding of common network and security protocols · Demonstrate a customer centric approach. · ability to provide excellent customer service to our clients, the ability to efficiently and independently address routine service matters and make reasonable recommendations to issues and challenges when they surface. · Strong troubleshooting skills and following standard operating procedures and processes are essential. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills and can work with people at various levels of the organization.
