Join a team that’s naturally committed to the environment. **Your Opportunity** Stantec is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical Engineering team in Burnaby, BC. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an award-winning group, where you will apply your expertise to deliver impactful projects that help shape and connect communities across British Columbia and Western Canada. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Contribute to both interdisciplinary and geotechnical-specific project teams by delivering sound and reliable geotechnical engineering recommendations and demonstrate your ability to bring innovation to our field of practice + Develop, promote, and maintain relationships with internal and external clients, as the primary point of contact + Manage geotechnical projects of varying scope and complexity + Lead proposals, make informed engineering decisions, and oversee the successful delivery of projects + Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver technical services in both field and office settings + Provide strategic mentorship and coaching to support the growth and development of emerging engineering professionals + Communicate effectively with clients, geotechnical and project team members and Stantec colleagues from across North America + Promote strong workplace health and safety practices + Represent Stantec in the community, with local geotechnical societies, and University settings to enhance brand awareness + Contribute to the development of technical papers, participate in conference proceedings, and engage actively in committees and technical working groups **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Experience in heavy civil geotechnical engineering applications including power, roads and highways, water and waste water, tunneling and trenchless methods, slope stability, fresh water dams and numerical analysis + Demonstrate the capability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, complemented by strong proficiency in both verbal and written English communication + Strong technical expertise alongside exceptional oral and written communication skills, complemented by advanced analytical and project management capabilities + Collaborate effectively with senior leadership, perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and work cohesively within diverse team environments + Demonstrate the ability to coach and mentor developing engineering professionals + Valid BC Driver’s License **Education and Experience** A degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering as well as a professional engineering license in British Columbia (registered with EGBC). A minimum of 7 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering design and consulting, with a primary focus on projects within British Columbia or Western Canada. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
