Intermediate Electrical Designer

MCW is seeking a self-motivated Intermediate Electrical Designer to join our Vancouver Office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to apply their skills and knowledge and to develop their professional career.

 

 

Position: Intermediate Electrical Designer   

 

Location: Vancouver, BC

 

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually

 

Responsibilities: The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

 

Preparation of drawings and schematics, using Revit and AutoCAD. Prepare layouts, conceptual designs and calculations. Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness, including Mechanical, Architectural and Structural disciplines. Willing to assist in a variety of project support activities including project coordination, strategic planning, client support. Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports and project calculations. Interpret and understand basic design for architectural, electrical, and mechanical. Attend field reviews/meetings with clients when required. Help establish and promote client relationships. Strive to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clients. Overtime as required.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Education:

 

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field such as Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or Building Systems Technology. 6-8 years of relevant work experience. Proficient with Revit/BIM software. Proficient with AutoCAD. Experience with Lighting Calculation program AGI Familiarity with 365 Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint Experience working with customers and client base. Experience working in a team-based environment. Registered or ability to become registered with EGBC is an asset. Experience in site investigations and construction review is considered an asset. Familiar with bid and tendering process is considered an asset.

 

Required Skills:

 

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables. Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization. Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner. Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards, including but not limited to Electrical Code, Building Code. High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning. Excellent time management skills and project management skills. Ability to work under pressure. Analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented. Team and customer service-focused. Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible.
