Job Description:

Role Summary:

As an Intermediate Cloud Analyst, you will be an essential member of the Cloud Infrastructure & Operations team; a highly recognized group within the Data & Analytics division of Application Operations Services (AOS) organization. This team plays a direct role in Big Data, AI/Machine Learning and Analytics technologies by designing, building and supporting Analytics infrastructure, and middleware technologies on Cloud platforms.

What will you do?

Manage and administer Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) and related eco-system technologiesPassionate about learning Amazon Web Services, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)Performance analytics tuning for queries, applications, and resourcesProvide solutions and take preventative steps while resolving operational problems/incidentsCreate and maintain documentation and procedures for all supported platformsFollow Service Management Processes including Problem, Incident and Change management processesCollaborate closely with team members, technical leads, project delivery teams (DevOps, Agile) and application support teams to ensure quality servicesContribute innovative solutions and best practice improvementsBring strong analysis skills and a drive for continuous improvementProvide 7X24 rotational on-call duties, after hour change support and disaster recovery support

What you need to succeed?

High academic credentials and University level degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Science or a related field2 years of experience in Information Technology in a related Cloud technology ie: Azure or AWSUnderstand, describe and action complex conceptsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPassion for data and analytics as a careerStrong organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks efficientlyStrong analytic skills and a keen curiosityDemonstrated ability to take initiative and learn independently

Experience that would be nice to have:

Proficiency with Linux serversKnowledge of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) and Report developmentScripting languages ie: PythonKnowledge of database concepts such as data mapping, logical and physical data modelingExperience giving presentations to a wide variety of audiences including stakeholders, Senior Leaders and Clients

Requirement of the role:

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
