Job Title: Interim Accounting Manager

Job Description

Join our dynamic and rapidly growing organization as an Interim Accounting Manager. This role involves overseeing key accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger Support, and Financial Analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to manage transactional accounting teams effectively.

Responsibilities

Process and record customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue payments.Investigate and resolve customer billing inquiries or disputes.Reconcile customer accounts and ensure proper documentation of transactions.Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness.Process invoices in the accounting system, ensuring proper coding and documentation.Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, electronic transfers, and other payment methods.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring proper documentation and filing.Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis as required.Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.Assist in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and preparing various financial reports.Collaborate with the finance team to analyze variances and provide explanations or recommendations.Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.5+ years of accounting experience, possibly in a lead or sr role.Experience managing transactional accounting teams.Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.Experience with month-end closing processes.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Dynamics experience is highly desirable.Ability to see the bigger picture and maneuver between multiple entities.

Work Environment

The role reports directly to a newly created position, working closely with the CFO, an inspiring leader who values hard work and team collaboration. The team consists of three members: two in accounts payable and a billing coordinator. This position requires office presence five days a week, with some flexibility in hours. The organization has grown significantly, now residing in a modern office space in Brooklyn Park, fostering a collaborative and fun work atmosphere. The finance/accounting team includes five dedicated professionals, and the company uses Microsoft Dynamics and Jobboss for its operations.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
