Job Responsibilities
As an ICA Engineering Manager, you will start your career in Procter & Gamble’s Product Supply organization by developing technical mastery in Intelligent Controls & Automation (ICA) and Industrial IT/OT (Information Technology / Operational Technology) integration.

You will help design, implement, and sustain automation, robotics, control, and data systems on our production and packing lines, and you will contribute to the site’s digitization roadmap (e.g., data connectivity, visualization, analytics, and smart automation). You will work alongside experienced engineers and multi-functional partners to deliver initiatives that improve Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Sustainability, while supporting the site’s IWS (Integrated Work System) journey.

This is an early-career leadership role: you will not have direct reports initially, but you will be expected to take ownership of systems and projects, influence others, and build your technical and leadership skills from day one.

Technical, Automation & Digitization Support

Support the design, implementation, and commissioning of ICA systems, including:

PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms (Rockwell ControlLogix and/or other major platforms)

Drives, servo systems, and motion control

Robotics and basic machine vision applications

Industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, MODBUS, etc.)

Support industrial IT/OT and digitization initiatives

Assist senior engineers in Front-End Engineering Design, FAT/SAT, and line start-ups, ensuring ICA and data/IT/OT requirements are captured and delivered.

Contribute to the design and modification of automation panels and electrical/automation assemblies under guidance.

System Ownership, IT/OT & Operations

Learn to act as system owner for defined ICA and industrial data scope (e.g., a line, a unit operation, or a platform), ensuring:

Reliable day-to-day operation of electrical, control, and automation systems

Stable data flows from equipment (sensors, PLCs, robots) into site data platforms (historians, MES, dashboards)

Proper backups, version control, and documentation for PLC/HMI/SCADA programs and configurations

Changes follow Management of Change (MoC), cybersecurity, and site standards

Collaborate with local IT and/or OT specialists

Provide hands-on troubleshooting support, working with E&I technicians, Operations, and occasionally IT partners to resolve automation, network, and data issues.

Safety, Quality, Cybersecurity & Stewardship

Apply and respect P&G and local safety standards, including Electrical Safety and Lockout/Tagout.

Support compliance with local electrical regulations and internal Stewardship and Cybersecurity policies.

Contribute to OT cybersecurity practices in your scope (under guidance)

Support ICA and data-related input to change controls, quality investigations, and GMP actions, ensuring data integrity and traceability where required.

IWS, Continuous Improvement & Digital Tools

Participate in one or more IWS pillars (e.g., AM, PM, E&T, HS&E), supporting implementation of standards, tools, and loss elimination actions.

Use data from production systems (historians, MES, OEE, PLC logs) to help:

Identify and quantify losses (downtime, quality events)

Build simple reports and dashboards (e.g., using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools)

Support root cause analysis and prioritization of improvements

Support energy and sustainability programs by:

Helping instrument and connect equipment to capture energy/utility consumption data

Contributing to control strategies and automation improvements that reduce energy and waste.

Collaboration & Leadership Development

Work closely with:

Operations teams and technicians for daily support and skills building on the floor

Site and regional Engineering, Quality, Product Research, and Initiative teams for new projects and launches

IT/OT partners to align on architectures, standards, and cybersecurity

External suppliers, OEMs, and System Integrators during design, commissioning, and service activities

Build your leadership skills by taking ownership of defined tasks and smaller projects, coordinating across functions, and driving issues to closure—particularly at the intersection of automation, data, and manufacturing.
