Job title Intelligence Analyst
£30,000-£35,000PA dependent on experience.
Job purpose
To deliver reliable, actionable intelligence concerning security risks to the client in order to identify threats, vulnerabilities and impacts and contribute to creating a safe and secure environment for client's people and assets.
Scope of the role
Provide the highest standards of intelligence collation, evaluation, and analysis to inform key decision-makers for the client to aid in keeping people and property safe. Support Senior Intelligence Analysts and the Intelligence Manager in the establishment of a professional security culture driven by intelligence analysis for the client.
Key accountabilities and measures
• Proactively deliver intelligence from qualitative and quantitative sources and draw assessments and conclusions based on client security needs.
• Use OSINT to identify security threats to our client's people and property, escalating as appropriate.
• Support the analytical work of the senior intelligence analyst to produce a variety of intelligence products.
• Analyse trends and present actionable intelligence to provide advice to more effectively manage security resources.
• Create intelligence products to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to our client's operations and wider estate.
• Present intelligence and structured reporting to the client leadership and if necessary, wider authorities.
• Enhance the service to the client through relationship building, partnership development and identification of innovative security intelligence solutions.
• Support the major incident response of the department, communicating to all relevant stakeholders in a timely, accurate and concise manner.
• Maintain mass communications software, including the regular updating of client contact details and preferences.
• Conduct other research or duties as required by the Senior Analyst and/or Intelligence Manager.
• Provide support to the Risk & Assurance Service, accompanying them on external site visits as required.
• Represent the client at security-relevant network meetings and similar fora.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and Company and Client quality standards.
• Where appropriate, implement actions to protect the business and minimise non-compliance at all times.
Key Skills and Experience
At least one year in an Intelligence Analyst role.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms and conducting other types of open-source research
Experience in writing strategic and tactical reports and strong analytical ability.
Experienced in Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel, Power BI, and use of intelligence databases.
Strong understanding of threats, vulnerabilities, and risks that can impact retail and distribution.
Good educational background and a solid command of written and spoken English
Experience of working within a demanding, fast-paced environment and supporting major incident communications
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, flexible, and discreet.
Solid organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and achieve deadlines for a team of Intelligence Analysts.
Ability to engage with colleagues, clients and senior management in a professional manner.
A positive attitude and ability to deal with pressure professionally, and a willingness to learn and develop.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Relevant experience in the security and intelligence space.
Experience with operating with the intelligence cycle.
Degree educated or equivalent ability.
Familiar with the UK National Intelligence Models.
Security cleared or prepared to undertake additional vetting.
Ability to work remotely as and when required.
