Activities
The Integrity Engineer will work within the ST Department and be involved in day-to-day operations support for the integrity management of pressure equipment. The engineer will primarily focus on static equipment such as piping, pressure vessels, tanks, and pipelines. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Interfacing with operations and maintenance for integrity-related issues and developing recommendations as needed
Stewardship of inspection programs in assigned assets, reviewing inspection data, and providing follow-up recommendations for monitoring, corrosion control, inspections, and/or repairs
Conducting fitness-for-service assessments and providing repair recommendations
Performing root cause failure analyses and making materials recommendations
Conducting risk analysis as needed
Managing inspection contractors
Developing periodic reports to management on materials and corrosion control issues, opportunities, key performance indicators, and risks
Serving as the single point of contact to operations and maintenance for certain assets or functional aspects of corrosion management
Additional activities may include:
Corrosion surveillance at assigned assets, including stewardship of fluid analysis, coupons/probes
Planning, execution, and stewardship of corrosion prevention programs, including cathodic protection, chemical treatment, coatings, and internal environmental control programs such as oxygen exclusion
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – preferably in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field; Master’s degree preferred
5–7 years of experience in an upstream oil and gas role with an understanding of corrosion mechanisms and experience in integrity management
Willingness to spend time in the plant(s)
