Organisation Context

The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems, is providing leading edge Air Traffic Management (ATM), Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), Security and Digital Aviation solutions for the Commercial and Defence sectors.

The AMS business manages 11% of the world’s airspace and with revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide, is the global market leader in airspace management solutions.  In Singapore, the business focus is the delivery and support of two key ATM solutions including TopSKY-ATC(HE) and LORADS-III.

This role will initially support the LIII program.

Role Description

The Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification Manager (IVVQM) is responsible for defining and executing the IV&V strategy to ensure that the overall solution satisfies all contractual, operational and regulatory requirements and is deemed fit for purpose.  The IVVQM also provides direction, guidance, expert advice and mentoring to the IVV team to ensure that project IVV objectives and milestones are achieved in accordance with the approved schedule. 

Responsibilities

Define the Project IVV and Transition StrategyDevelop and maintain the IVVQ PlanDefine and monitor IVV KPIs and make recommendations on strategies to improve performance and productivityProactively participate in Program Increment planning and backlog refinement including contributing to the effort estimationLead IVV technical gate reviews both internal and with the CustomerContribute to the capitalisation and continuous improvement of IVV practicesIdentify risks and propose effective solution early to mitigateActively participate in program configuration control boards (CCBs) and make defect priority recommendationsActively participate in technical working groups both internally and externallyActively participate in technical status reviewsPromote knowledge sharing and ensuring that work is captured sufficiently for re-use across projectsProvide support to bids, produce/review Engineering Cost estimates for any modification proposals to the functional baselineProvide support during the analysis of Customers requirements to propose and negotiate win–win solution responses with Customers based in Australia and worldwideEnsure clear communications (written and verbal) with external customersManage customer scope iaw approved baseline/scheduleDeliver iaw Thales processes and practises and contribute to their improvement

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or other relevant qualification

Essential Experience

Test Engineering experience in complex software centric safety critical based systems (7+ years).Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment (2+ years)Solid knowledge and experience in Systems and Software Engineering lifecycles (eg. EIA632, ISO/IEC15288)Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders across a complex environmentSolid experience in leading and mentoring multi-skilled engineering team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environmentStrong ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including Project, Engineering Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Technical Design Authorities, Speciality engineers and the engineering team.Collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence etc.Experience with the use of Requirement/Tests and Defects Management System

Desirable:

Air Traffic Management domain expertise (inc. standards such as ICAO, Eurocontrol, AIDC)Experience in product delivery using agile methodologies like Lean methods (including PDCA, Kanban, Value-Stream Mapping); prior experience working Agile @ Scale framework is a bonusProgramming/Scripting Languages; Java, C++, Ada, Python, BashExperience working in a Linux/Unix development environmentSolid experience in upskilling and training new engineers
