Integrated Technical Infrastructure Manager - VPM (Vendor Project Manager)

Overview:

In alignment with our Client values, we are looking for a DC Integrated Technical Infrastructure Manager VPM as a client representative to build our Data Centre capacity at Hyderabad with the ability to self-direct the team and having strong background in Data Centre end to end Construction management with an emphasis on building the passive telecom-IT fitout infrastructure for the Data Centre.

The DC ITIM VPM is responsible for the program management of all integration and technical infrastructure fit-out activities associated with MSFT owned system and/or services and critical infrastructure that is required to be installed into new data centre builds or lease facilities to deliver capacity to the business.

The role has to do material & vendor management and management of scopes and interdependencies between all external and internal stakeholders and coordinating the same with the general contractor for execution. The DC ITIM is responsible for coordinating the handover process and ensuring the required handover documentation and expectations are met to handover the space to our Operations teams and the business.

This position will be based in Hyderabad and will have responsibility of leading Data Centre Build Management (DCBM)- Integration scope of work for multiple campuses at Hyderabad. In future the person should also be open for relocation as per the business needs.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s Degree, 12 to 15+ years’ experience in Telecom/IT infrastructure or large construction project management related experience.Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, key initiatives, and deadlines simultaneously.PMP, RCDD or similar Telecommunications, structured cabling Certification & experience preferred

Responsibilities:

1. Project Management

Drives new or retrofit Data Centre capacity Delivery Telecom & integrated Infrastructure as per the committed timelines.Assists site teams to establish goals for project teams, assigning responsibilities, measuring performance, and seeking and delivering feedback to achieve timely results.Vendor & Material ManagementAssist in Project tracking by reporting project progress regarding scope, schedule, standards & budget.Completing execution of Telecom Infrastructure and the scope as per Client Standards

2. Technical Acumen

Reviews engineering documentation/designs, site, and building plans by examining and analysing technical information.Identifies potential risks/gaps and provides recommendations to project teams that mitigates risk and improves overall constructability.Aligns project/program delivery with execution procedures and standards and ensures alignment with organizational standards and commitments.

3. Safety and Regulation

Represents Client as a safety leader and advocate on all campus/metro construction programs, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], or equivalent) to ensure compliance and aggressive management of risk.Conducts routine safety program, project, and contractor audits, and performs and participates in incident investigations.

4. Risk Mitigation

Communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to track, communicate, and drive progress.Suggests actions to support organizational and national safety goals.

5. The other responsibilities of the ITIM VPM include, but are not limited to:

The VPM will manage physical infrastructure and telecom deployment including the racks and integration work as part of the scope, IT cabling in copper and fiber infrastructure and end to end patching based on the provided telecom design. The supporting design for mechanical, electrical security and associated works for each project will be provided.The VPM will act as the general Client point of contact for the fit out works between the contractor, landlord and Client ITIM.The VPM will support the Client ITIM in providing reporting and direction on the project. The VPM will provide weekly report to Client ITIM confirming, open actions, risk issues for review, items requiring input, confirmation, or resolution from the Client stakeholder group.The VPM will direct and assess change management process with guidance from the Client ITIM, where items have impacted scope and or program and report against the completion and hand over program,The VPM will review the progress of the works against the agreed completion program with the contract team and advise/report on delivery and interface requirements between long lead equipment suppliers and the contract team.The VPM will also provide weekly update call with the Client ITIM, running through open actions requiring escalation or input from the Client ITIM, or Client group.The VPM will facilitate weekly remote or onsite meetings confirming outstanding actions, and managing interface between Client appointed contractors, long lead equipment suppliers and Client ITIM.The VPM will confirm point of interface between landlord, Client ITIM and the general contractor and long lead equipment suppliers.The VPM will assist with logistic management for Client.The VPM will provide reporting on site safety and enforcement of best practice approach for Client in running the works for Client.
