Description We are looking for an Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our clients team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate insurance authorizations and verifications, contributing to seamless healthcare operations. This is a long-term contract position within the healthcare industry, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact while enhancing your skills. Responsibilities: • Verify patient insurance coverage and ensure all required authorizations are obtained prior to services. • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to facilitate accurate and timely processing of claims. • Monitor and update patient records in the Epic EMR system to reflect verified insurance information. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to insurance payments and coverage. • Ensure prompt payment by identifying and addressing any issues with insurance claims. • Handle referrals and verify insurance details to support efficient patient care. • Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage and provide clarity on any concerns. • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance policies. • Generate reports on insurance verification activities and present findings to management. • Work closely with the billing department to streamline reimbursement processes. Requirements • Proven experience in medical insurance verification and authorization processes. • Familiarity with health insurance coverage policies and procedures. • Strong knowledge of Epic EMR or similar electronic medical record systems. • Ability to ensure accurate processing of insurance payments and referrals. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication abilities to liaise with patients, providers, and insurance companies. • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards. • Problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and resolve coverage issues.
