Role Overview

Project Support: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical support throughout all project phases, from concept to commissioning, including participation in safety studies (HAZOP, SIL). Design and Specification: Develop technical specifications for measurement and control instrumentation & systems, cables, and cable routing; select suitable instruments based on technical requirements, reliability, and cost-effectiveness; prepare datasheets, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and functional specifications. Procurement Process: Initiate and support the procurement process and review supplier design documentation. Fabrication, Installation, and Commissioning: Perform inspections and provide guidance during fabrication, factory acceptance testing, and handover at suppliers; supervise contractors during installation of cable trays, instruments, and panels; support calibration and commissioning of instruments. Compliance: Ensure all instrumentation designs comply with applicable standards (IEC 61511/508 and API/ASME) as well as company regulations and guidelines. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including instrument lists, datasheets, and drawings. Quality Assurance: Strive for quality and collaborate to deliver the smartest solution for each project.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong theoretical and practical technical knowledge of instrumentation. Proactive approach to work with problem-solving skills and a sense of responsibility. Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors. Ability to maintain an overview of ongoing tasks and organize work efficiently.

Education & Experience

Fluent in Dutch. Completed higher professional (HBO) education in a relevant technical field such as electrical engineering, measurement and control engineering, or automation. At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the process industry or with an engineering consultancy; practical experience with instrumentation in industrial installations is a plus. Experience with automation and control systems such as PLCs, DCS, and/or SCADA. Knowledge of instrumentation-related standards (e.g., ISA, IEC) and experience with instrumentation software such as AutoCAD, SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation), EPLAN.
