I further attest that all information I submit in my employment application is true to the best of my knowledge. **Job Description** **Instrumentation & Calibration Engineer** **Job Purpose** The Instrumentation & Calibration Engineer is responsible for the ownership, execution, and continuous improvement of the site calibration program, ensuring plant instrumentation and measurement systems are maintained in a state of control. The role supports safe, reliable, and GMP-compliant manufacturing and utility operations in alignment with Takeda’s values and site quality standards. **How you will contribute:** **Calibration Program Ownership** + Own and manage the site calibration program in accordance with GMP and Data Integrity requirements. + Perform and/or oversee calibration of process and utility instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, level, pH, conductivity, etc.). + Establish and optimize calibration strategies and frequencies based on risk and equipment criticality. + Ensure calibration activities are executed to defined tolerances and traceable standards, including as-found/as-left requirements. **Compliance & Quality** + Ensure full compliance with GMP, GDP, EU directives (e.g., ATEX), and site SOPs. + Maintain complete, accurate, and contemporaneous documentation. + Initiate and support deviations, CAPA, and change controls within TrackWise, ensuring timely closure and robust root cause analysis. + Support audit readiness and regulatory inspections. **Planning & Execution** + Plan, schedule, and close work orders in SAP PM (or equivalent CMMS). + Manage backlog and prioritize work in alignment with site objectives. + Coordinate with Operations, QA, Automation, and Engineering to minimize downtime and ensure efficient execution of maintenance activities. + Provide structured updates at tier meetings and escalate risks appropriately. **Safety & Contractor Management** + Act as Key Point of Contact (KPOC) for calibration contractors. + Ensure adherence to Permit to Work, LOTO, confined space, and high-risk activity procedures. + Promote and uphold site EHS standards and proactively report safety events via Beacon. **Continuous Improvement & Collaboration** + Drive continuous improvement initiatives through the AGILE Program. + Identify value capture opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and departmental efficiency. + Collaborate cross-functionally to support site priorities and foster a strong team-based culture. **What you bring to Takeda:** **Education** + Level 8 Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent. + Relevant apprenticeship combined with industry experience will be considered. **Experience** + Minimum 5 years’ experience in calibration/instrumentation within a regulated environment (pharma/biopharma/medical device preferred). + Strong working knowledge of GMP, Data Integrity, and good documentation practices. + Experience using SAP PM (or equivalent CMMS) and calibration management systems. + Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and technical documentation. + Experience working in ATEX or similar regulated environments desirable. **Skills & Competencies** + Strong GMP and compliance mindset. + Proven troubleshooting capability in instrumentation systems. + Effective backlog management and prioritization skills. + Strong technical documentation and report-writing ability. + Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. **What you can look forward to with us:** + Competitive Salary: Including performance-based bonuses. + Retirement Plan: Employer contributions to your retirement plan. + Comprehensive Insurance: Employer-funded private medical insurance with dependants’ cover, life insurance, and flexible options like dental insurance, partner life insurance, and serious illness protection. + Electric Charging Points: Available at parking locations. + Employee Assistance Program: Support for personal and professional challenges. + Wellbeing and Engagement: Dedicated teams to support your wellbeing. + Family-Friendly Policies: Supportive policies for a balanced work-life. + Generous Vacation: 26 vacation days plus additional days for service milestones and humanitarian volunteering leave. + Development Opportunities: Coaching, mentoring, educational programs, and formal training. + Subsidized Canteen: Enjoy meals at a reduced cost. + Flexible Benefits: Options like fuel card, bike to work, commuter ticket, and insurance deals. **More about us:** At Takeda, we are transforming patient care through the development of novel specialty pharmaceuticals and best in class patient support programs.
