Instrumentation And Controls Technician

🛠️ Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and specify instrumentation and control systems for water, wastewater, and recycled water facilitiesDevelop control narratives, I/O lists, and P&IDsCoordinate with electrical and mechanical teams to integrate I&C systems into overall project designsPrepare construction documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimatesSupport SCADA system design and integration, including PLC programming coordinationAssist with field investigations, system testing, and commissioning supportCollaborate with vendors, integrators, and contractors to ensure proper equipment selection and installationReview submittals and respond to RFIs during constructionParticipate in client meetings and provide technical input on automation strategies✅ Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering5–15 years of experience in instrumentation and controls for water/wastewater infrastructureFamiliarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, and telemetry systemsExperience preparing I&C design documents and specificationsStrong understanding of control system architecture and communication protocolsEffective communication and technical writing skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines✳️ Desired SkillsExperience with Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or Siemens PLC platformsFamiliarity with Wonderware, Ignition, or similar HMI/SCADA softwareKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices for control systemsExperience with field commissioning and troubleshootingExposure to sustainable design and energy-efficient control strategiesAbility to mentor junior staff or lead small design efforts🌿 Why You’ll Love Working HereContribute to high-profile projects like the Santa Monica Advanced Water Treatment Facility and SoFi Stadium’s integrated lake systemThrive in a supportive, innovation-driven environment that values technical growthEnjoy a flexible, balanced workplace culture with strong mentorship

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
