Instrumental Teaching Artist (Seasonal)
Job Summary: About the Role & Team

As an Instrumental Teaching Artist, you will be responsible for leading Middle School and High School bands and orchestras through a scripted performance based educational workshop. The workshop experience is 2.5 hours in length with no information on the ability level of the group prior to entering the room. You will need to be able to elevate the performance of any group regardless of age or experience in a positive way that inspires the students to continue to work on their craft.

You will report to the Imagination Campus Operations Manager.

This is a Casual Temporary or Seasonal role with no guarantee of weekly working hours, as hours will fluctuate based on business needs.  

What You Will Do

Employ Walt Disney World quality standards of Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency during program delivery/facilitation

Consistently models Walt Disney World Guidelines for Guest Service

Maintain and support the costuming guidelines for Walt Disney World

Deliver educational content to a variety of age and ability levels

Inspire young performers regardless of background or years of study

Quickly assess the strengths and weaknesses of a group and adjust content within guidelines to create a unique and inspiring experience

Consistently demonstrate professional conduct (i.e. timeliness, clocking on and off the job, respect for fellow Cast Members)

Keep up to date on content and logistics for all trained experiences

Required Qualifications & Skills

1+ years of Disney American Federation Musicians (AFM) performance experience OR professional touring performance experience

Background in ensemble conducting

Ability to assess a group quickly and take them to the next level

Flexibility in scheduling to include at least 16 hours per week of availability during peak times

Availability to include nights, weekends and holidays

Successful completion of background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

3 – 5 years of experience with The Walt Disney Company

3 – 5 years of School Ensemble Teaching Experience

Education

Bachelors Degree in Music Education or Music Performance or equivalent experience is required
